It's the little things . . .

Wyatt is recovering just fine from his surgery. Everything pretty much looks normal "down there".

It's strange to look at his "new" pee pee. I'm sure it's normal, but it's just not the one I am used to looking at. He also hasn't peed on me again . . . I guess that's good . . . but it just seems strange.

We've been trying a new bedtime routine. Instead of rocking him to sleep, and then waiting 10 more minutes to put him down, I've been rocking him for 5 minutes and putting him down, asleep or not. For the past several days, it worked great. He would automatically roll over on his tummy, tuck his legs up close to his body and fall asleep.

Last night, after I did this, I was bragging to Scott about how well this was working. Then, Wyatt began crying, then screaming.

Scott went to rock him . . and went thru the same routine.

He did it again. This time, Wyatt cried for a minute or two, but went to sleep. How ironic is it that I was just bragging about how wonderful it was working and then it didn't?

Anyway, as I was rocking him, I kept thinking how wonderful it was to hold him against me and rock him. I even like the way he "picks" at the chair arm for a few minutes before he sighs and puts his arm around my neck and goes to sleep.

I also love the way he smells. He's all fresh from the bath and smells like his special bedtime lotion.

How lucky can two people be?
